BEYOND – the documentary

“Why do we explore?”
This is the question that gives life to Beyond, the documentary premiering internationally on Saturday, April 26 at the 73rd Trento Film Festival.

Beyond tells the story of an intense journey across Europe’s largest glacier, Vatnajökull, in Iceland, undertaken in 2017. In January 2025, I decided to return to the glacier, which had marked a pivotal chapter in my life eight years earlier.

What emerges is an intimate and powerful journey that weaves together exploration and awareness, shifting the focus beyond physical challenge to embrace a broader, more universal message.

Beyond is a reflection on the concept of limits, on letting go, on perseverance, and on the deep connection between human beings and nature.

Beyond is co-directed by Francesco Clerici , who also edited the film. The original score is composed by Michele Braga. The film is produced by Francesca Urso for The 5th Element, with the support ofAPF Valtellina by Provincia di Sondrio, and in collaboration with La Scala – Società tra Avvocati, Montura , and  UNIMATIC Watches.
