10 rivers 1 ocean

Navigating the World's ten most plastic polluted rivers with rafts built with recycled materials to document the long journey made by tons of waste accumulating in the oceans every year.

Since 2019 my wife Francesca, a group of extraordinary partners and sponsors, and I have been promoters of the 10 Rivers 1 Ocean project. The goal is to navigate the World’s ten most plastic polluted rivers to promote greater understanding and knowledge of the plastic pollution and, at the same time, offer a new method to try to understand and interpret the causes of the current environmental crisis.

I cruise aboard hand-built rafts made with recycled material that I collect near rivers.

This idea, halfway between an exploration and an environmental dissemination project, comes from the need to use exploration, which for many years has been the key to carrying out actual self-explorations, to answer the question “where are we going?”.

To date, October 2021, I have cruise on the Ganges (India), the Pearl River (China), on the Nile (Egypt) and rowed to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
